| In case anyone was wondering, I'm back States-side now. I landed on Monday afternoon after 22 grueling hours of travel and was about ready to kiss the ground when I walked out of the terminal at DFW. I already miss the girls in South Africa (Margo, Annika, and Simone took me to the airport and I nearly fell apart leaving them), but I'm glad to be home. I love the Texas sun! | | |
| I almost forgot: ICH LIEBE DEUTSCHLAND! Germany beat Costa Rica: woohoo! | | |
| WOW, what a day! Yesterday was nuts, with trying to get all the loose ends at the university tied up. Last night we went to watch the opening ceremonies of the World Cup and the first game (Germany v. Costa Rica) at McGinty's. THEN I met Margaret and Allison for dinner and a movie before going back to the girls house and staying up until all hours to talk to Simone and Margo. Today was just as nuts: I got up early and did one last load of laundry, packed some, and walked to St. Wilfrid's for my aerobics class. The door to the hall had been tampered with the night before and no one could get it unlocked, so instead we had class outside on the grass. Margaret and I raced over to Pretoria Girls High to pick up Allison and then had to find somewhere to park for the Pretoria Boys High/Affies rugby game. Now it's back to packing and then the girls will be by my house with a "surprise" picnic: yeah! Tomorrow is just as bad in the best possible way. So close to coming home I can taste it... | | |
| I'm finished! I'm finished! I'm finished! I'm finished! | | |
| ONLY ONE MORE EXAM! I'm off for tea with SK then dinner with Simone and Annika: Simone is making her famous ostrich stew tonight. EW, studying, but it's all over tomorrow. | | |
